Musicians
MISSING THE MUSIC: As shows were canceled and venues closed due to the coronavirus, bands used the down time to write new music in hopes of a more lively summer season.
But Dave Bowman, a music promoter at Blue Sky Music and a board of director for the Montrose Summer Music Series, indicated the series seems unlikely to go ahead this summer.

LIFELONG LEARNER AND EDUCATOR: Joe Brummitt, a third-generation Montrose resident, has dedicated his career to making a difference in the classroom as a teacher and administrator. He is retiring after working 37 years in the Montrose County School District.

Gardner
GARDNER OPTIMISTIC: U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner is optimistic that, after more than 50 years, the federal program that helps conserve lands will be permanently reauthorized — and fully funded.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund will receive about $900 million a year, if Gardner's Great American Outdoors Act becomes law.
