Happy Flag Day, Montrose! Katharhynn here - Flag Day was initiated by Wisconsin teacher Bernard Cigrand and now commemorates the adoption of the U.S. flag on June 14, 1777. Let those banners fly! Can you help? Two Montrose students are battling cancer and Montrose GOP Community Outreach is raising money. There will be a tap day from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. at Horsefly on Thursday, with $1 of each drink purchased is donated to the benefit of Aiden Hutto and Dariann Bushee. GOP Community Outreach is also collecting donations, gas cards and grocery cards this month. Info: 970-209-9817. In case you missed it: There's new life at the Russell Stover candy plant.
