Hi, hope you are keeping cool in this heat! Katharhynn from the newsroom here, recommending checking out the water-based recreation that abounds. You can find it as close by as the Uncompahgre River (Montrose Water Sports Park) or the Community Recreation Center pools. Or head up the road to Ridgway Reservoir. And bring sunscreen! PAUSE Act put on pause: The Colorado Supreme Court has kicked back a proposed ballot measure for the PAUSE Act, which has been roundly criticized by farmers and most local governments on the Western Slope. In case you missed it: Ryan King, of Montrose Marlins fame, talks about swimming in the Olympic Trials.

Way back when ... Today in 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution is the oldest of written constitutions still in use, per The History Channel.
