Happy June

Despite the four-day work week, it was still a busy one for me.

This weekend is full of events for art lovers. Tonight was the First Friday reception at MCA, honoring the late Bob DeJulio and including a silent auction to raise money for the art center.

La Familia Music Group also hosted a showcase for their music academy students at The Temple, 7 p.m.

Tomorrow there will be classic car shows at Cerise Park and dance recitals. Check out more information on the latter here.

More into the outdoors? Our Outdoor Section this week covered some great paddle board spots for this time of year that aren't too far.

For me, it doesn't feel like summer until I unroll my inflatable board for the first time and gratefully remember that I bought an electric pump (seriously a lifesaver.)

Of course, local instructors, business owners, and park managers have some great tips for those just starting out, as well as for those who have gone out a time or two.

Find out what they have to say in our recent feature.

- Have a fantastic weekend. Get out on the water if you can, Rhiannon
