Tacos and Ice Cream I'm moving out of Ridgway and closer to work soon, so before I left I had to do a couple last things...as if I won't live less than an hour away. One of them was eating out one last time, so I went for the Korean BBQ tacos at Gnar. Yes, I know they just had an outbreak, but ya know what? They cooperated with the state, replaced their producers, and 5 days later I haven't been sick yet. I suppose I'm not quite in the clear, but so far so good, and the tacos were delicious. Hopefully I won't regret this, and this local business a lot of people have come to know and love will move past it too. I also had to pick up a few more pints of Brown Chicken Brown Cow Ice Cream from Cafe Ridgway a la Mode, and while I did indeed say pints plural, they are all gone now. The stuff is made by Ouray-based ice climber Dawn Glanc, and it's without a doubt the best, creamiest ice cream I've ever had. I don't even like mocha, but I've killed two pints of mocha hazelnut cookie this week, and the only reason it wasn't more is because I bought the last one. Luckily, I won't have to go as far for this, because Dawn recently started selling the ice cream at County Line Liquor and Mercantile in Colona. I'll be stopping by frequently, and we just may have to reach out to Dawn for an upcoming business story now that the good stuff is so close to town.
