I'm immature This should surprise no one who knows me well. So when the time came to consider signing up for some trail stewardship trips with the Ouray Trail Group, despite the fact that the last one left me so tired I slept for a full 12 hours, I said heck yeah. Why, you might wonder. It was not really out of an altruistic motivation, and it wasn't really for the joy of hiking. It wasn't even because my friend was leading the trip, because I didn't know that when I signed up. It was because there was pack llamas. Pack llamas! Like Cuzco in "The Emperor's New Groove." I've never even seen a llama before so I knew I had to go. They look so silly, with their necks all long and perpendicular to the rest of their body. So I had to go, and we did some work along the way, and Ill be talking all about that in this week's outdoors section. But since I pretty exclusively draw rom my weekend adventures for newsletter content, and y'all don't need a rundown of my time at Orvis Hot Springs after the two-day camping trip, here's some extra llama photos. Me and my bestie Wyatt getting ready for the hike down. QUICK LINKS | | | | | |
