In consideration of water ...
There's nary an issue as important as water. In particular in Colorado, where the Colorado River flows and feeds the West, and specifically on the Western Slope, where agricultural interests have watched as Front Range urban growth has required increasingly more of the wet stuff. Last week in Montrose, the annual West Slope Water Summit was held, allowing a regional deep dive into some of the issues surrounding the topic of water. University of Colorado professor and author Roger Pielke, Jr., spoke about decarbonization and climate change, while University of Arizona professor Connie Woodhouse spoke about using past streamflow data to inform future resource management, and other presenters delved into issues like the importance of water storage. The Montrose Daily Press is presenting the highlights from this water summit throughout this week. You can read the first article here, and check back throughout this week for additional articles. If you're looking to fully immerse yourself in this year's water summit, you can view the entire 2023 West Slope Water Summit here. Have a Good One, Jeremy Morrison, managing editor QUICK LINKS |
