Hi friends, Oh boy, is it getting hot! I don't recommend stepping outside without some water, shades, hat and most definitely your sunscreen (I'm looking at me). And for our dog-loving neighbors, here's a great reminder about hot dog season from Montrose Animal Services: Dogs have a unique way of getting rid of body heat that differs greatly from humans. Since the concept of dog sweating is much different than human sweating, pups must find different ways to remove the excess body heat like panting. Since painting is inefficient, heatstroke is a very serious and realistic problem for canines in hot situations. If you see a dog trapped in a hot car, call Montrose Dispatch Center at 970-249-9110 This community newsletter is made just for you!
