Introducing: The injury diaries

I don't think you're supposed to hear popping sounds from your foot, especially not multiple at once.
But since I made the ill-advised decision to train jiu jitsu at a new gym two days before a tournament, I found myself struggling to stand after someone attempted a move that led to me feeling lots of pops followed by an intense burning feeling.

Not great. But, luckily, not broken.
However, it looks like it will be another month before I can get back on the mats, into the mountains, on a mountain bike, or pretty much anything I would usually do right now.

So, for the next few weeks (hopefully no more) I'll be mixing it up and keeping track of what I do to stay entertained while I'm healing.

From live music and foodie events to more gentle outdoor offerings, I know there's plenty to do on the Western Slope for people who aren't adrenaline junkies, too- I just need to find it.

Or, find a whitewater kayaking class because that won't strain my foot. Anything could happen.

So, stay tuned for a later piece on everything to do out here when the obviou is off the table.
And, for those celebrating, have a wonderful Father's Day.
Cheers,
Kylea
