Music in the mountains ...

Feel like stretching your legs and getting out of town this weekend? Yeah, me too.

We've got a couple of good options pretty close to home this weekend, with the Telluride Bluegrass Festival celebrating its 51st year and, even closer, the Ouray International Film Festival returning for a 5th year.

In Telluride, the annual bluegrass extravaganza runs from Thursday through Sunday. Each day is packed with both legends and newcomers alike.

Kicking the weekend off are Billy Strings and Chris Thile and closing it out is Lyle Lovett. In between is everything from from Sam and Bela to Leftover to SistaStrings and everything in between.

Also running Thursday through Sunday, the OIFF brings a diverse mix of films to venues around Ouray. Attendees can expect films ranging from a documentary on the Indigo Girls to adventure films to Ukrainians films, as well as panel discussions with filmmakers.
