So, how was your Monday?

In bad news/good news today, the work day at Vectra Bank on South Townsend got off to a rough - and rattling - start.  The Montrose Police Department told us a person driving north on the road apparently experienced a medical episode, veered off, and struck the bank building, knocking a good-sized hole in the wall.

Obviously, no crash is "good news," but the fact that no one was working in that part of the bank when the vehicle hit is super fortunate. It's also fortunate the driver was not injured, Montrose Police Cmdr. Larry Witte said.

We are sorry this happened, but we are glad people are OK.

Oh, by the way ...

It's fair week!

The Montrose County Fair and Rodeo Parade starts tonight at 7, on Main. Come turn out to support all the competitors, sponsors, group leaders and families who are striving to promote and preserve our agricultural heritage.

Tuesday's schedule of events includes the dog show at noon and Community Night - jammed full of activities - at 5; at the fairgrounds off North Second Street. Find out more here — and keep in mind, sometimes, schedules revise at the last minute.
