Fighting back against bullying and preventing wildfires | From the Newsroom

PEER Kindness is preventing bullying, school districts are preventing the spread of COVID-19 and Colorado Parks and Wildlife is preventing wildfires.

PEER KINDNESS:
With the unique hybrid learning school year weeks away, members of PEER (Positive, Encouraging, Empathetic, and Respectful) Kindness are working to ensure students have the resources they need to feel safe and included.
PEER Kindness hopes to change the culture around bullying in school, as one in four U.S. students reports being bullied at school and one in three reports being bullied online.

BACK TO SCHOOL GUIDANCE: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recently released a series of charts and at-home symptom screening checklists for families to help schools respond to COVID-19 cases and outbreaks. The guidance also includes information for child care and pre-K settings.

COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE
is reminding people to stay "fire-wise" while outdoor recreating amid multiple fires burning throughout the state. Keeping campfires contained to provided fire pits when allowed, using only approved ammunition and targets at shooting ranges and being conscientious visitors to the back country can all help prevent fire danger.
CPW provided additional information on how to safely recreate outdoors and prevent further damage from wildfires.
