FRIDAY'S FIRE:
Montrose Forest Products is operating at a temporarily diminished capacity, as repairs are made to electrical components that were damaged in a fire late Friday at the timber mill. Mike Kusar, general manager, said the sprinkler system "paid for itself" by slowing the fire before firefighters arrived.

A UNIQUE BUSINESS: Nate Cochran, a 2019 graduate of Montrose High School, offers his onsite chainsaw sculptures and custom orders and recently made a visit to Cedaredge for a sculpture of an eagle. The Montrose Daily Press will have a feature on Cochran in an upcoming edition.

KNOCK OUT PARKINSON'S: Thanks to Knock-Out Parkinson's, a boxing program provided by Montrose Memorial Hospital at Mountain View Therapy in Montrose, Parkinson's patients are able to disguise work as play and improve quality of life while slowing the progression of the disease. The program, which began in the summer of 2018, is designed to improve quality of life by improving aerobic endurance, muscular strength, balance and coordination for patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
