STOP THE KNOCK: Have you completed the 2020 Census for your household?
If not, you might hear a knock on your door this month as U.S. Census Bureau employees obtain responses at households that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census. As part of its Stop the Knock campaign, the Census Bureau will send out Census takers to ensure every American, including residents of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands is counted.

ANNIVERSARY TO REMEMBER: Today is the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, which eventually led to the end of World War II in the Pacific. Here's an NPR story. Here's a story Katharhynn Heidelberg wrote in 2013 about Cleo Elliott who had his boots on the ground at Iwo Jima.

NO BLINKER NECESSARY: It's a traffic rule that no one ever seems to agree on, but thanks to a case against Timothy Robert McBride in 2017, the state of Colorado now has clarification on the use of turn signals in roundabouts.
The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled on July 23 that using a turn signal is not required when entering or exiting a roundabout.
