Hi and hello! Cassie here with your daily newsletter.
Here's a fun fact: "An Act to regulate the Time and Manner of administering certain Oaths" is the oldest law in U.S. books.
Passed by the United States Congress after the ratification of the Constitution, it was signed by President George Washington on June 1, 1789 and is still partly in effect today.
The more ya know!

Indefinite closure on I-70 ends: I-70 through Glenwood Canyon and Little Blue Canyon recently closed due to ongoing mudslides and weather-related risks. Now CDOT is opening the route this week for two-way travel.

Travelers need to take the northern detour route via U.S. 40 through Steamboat Springs or the southern detour route, U.S. 50.

You can subscribe to CDOT travel alerts here to stay on top of the ever-changing CDOT news.

The city is deciding how to spend ARPA funds: So the city recently received $2.4 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds and were approved for a total of $4.9 million. They'll receive the remaining half next year, according to Kendall Cramer, the city's grant coordinator. In the meantime, the city is now looking at how to spend these funds.

City Council members voted last night to use $300,000 from ARPA funds toward the city's $500,000 contribution to developer Rich Dana's mobile home project. The funds will help remove asbestos from the existing homes as well as support the addition of water and sewer infrastructure.

Josue Perez goes more in depth on how the city plans to utilize the funds.

Today in history: In 1944, just three days after making her last diary entry, Anne Frank was captured by the Nazi Gestapo. The capture came after 25 months of hiding. Anne, born as Annelies Marie Frank, moved through concentrations camps in Holland, Auschwitz and the Bergen-Belsen camp in Germany before her tragic death from typhus in February 1945.
