Here's a cheesy bit of news: Bern University of the Arts and a cheesemaker in Switzerland are studying whether the sounds and vibrations of music, like hip-hop for example, can impact the chemical reactions in the bacteria living in cheese. According to the research, the flavor changes depending on the melodies played as the cheese ripens.
Legislators hope for an agreement with a local tribes: State Sen. Don Coram and Rep. Marc Catlin are making an effort to secure an agreement with local Native American tribes. The legislative parties hope to come to an agreement so Montrose High School can keep the "Indians" mascot. Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Chairman Manual Hart isn't optimistic about Coram's chances at getting an agreement. "They can come and talk to us, but it's probably not going to go very far," he said.
