Hello, Montrose and friends!
Image

It's a chilly Friday, following on the heels of several good snowstorms. Great news for the snowpack and now, better news from CDOT. The state had to close several mountain passes on Wednesday and into Thursday because of a monster storm, but according to the latest info, all are open!

Some of us (naming no names) didn't even have to travel in the high country to encounter problems. Last week, Feb. 15, a certain someone got stuck ... in a plowed alley just feet from her back door. OK — that someone is me! It was a good time to have traction substance (cat litter), a shovel, some elbow grease, and someone to give it a good shove (Thanks, Dennis).

The storms brought beauty, too. Here's a sneak peek at some of the snaps your friends and neighbors sent us for the Community Page.

— Katharhynn from the newsroom, hoping you stay warm and safe.
