State of the Union.

To the reader who emailed in and said a small town publisher shouldn't write about national politics...well, here I go again.

Tonight's State of the Union address which starts at 7pm our time probably won't offer a lot of drama. In our house, the Denver Nuggets will be on the big screen while I watch the SOTU on my phone. We love the Nuggets and now that they're in first place in the conference all of our years of frustration is finally paying off. Jokic for MVP again.

President Biden will declare a strong economy, the Democrats will give him a standing ovation, and the Republicans will sit on their hands. Well, maybe not our Representative. I'll be curious what kind of antics she'll display tonight. Remember her commitment to strength and grace. She doesn't either.

Something tells me these two won't be sitting near each other this time.

The talking heads say that tonight will be a precursor to President Biden's re-election campaign. Former President Trump has already announced his bid with former Ambassador to the United Nations and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to follow. All I ask for is choices, so I can vote for who I think best represents me. 2024 is a long way away but it's going to be a short time to get there.
