Happy rainy Tuesday!

Well folks, it's that time again. School is back in session again this week, and that always brings to mind safety for me.

Just yesterday, an 8-year-old boy from Cedaredge hit a moving car while riding his bike along West Main Street. Luckily, according to Cedaredge police, he's okay and medical staff are positive about his recovery.

Kurt Clay, assistant superintendent for Delta County School District, said this:

"Anytime something like this occurs it causes us to stop and reflect, so we are asking everyone to talk to your child about safety when walking, riding or waiting for a bus and we will do the same. We would also ask that everyone be aware of students on the roads getting to school."

Good luck to all the teachers, staff and students heading back to school this week! And for all the parents sending your little ones off to school for the first time, you're doing great.

- Cassie, from the newsroom, wishing the rain would stick around just a little longer.
