Bridge woes

Curious what CDOT is up to as the bridge closure over Blue Mesa enters the third week?

You can find out Tuesday evening, during a hybrid virtual/in-person meeting.  It's 6:30 - 8 p.m., in Gunnison, or by Zoom at

https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87860154317

As you know, the bridge was shut down for safety and structural reasons April 18, cutting off direct access between here and Gunnison, leading to a multitude of extreme concerns for students, businesses, medical patients, recreationists, ag/cattle producers, and the general public.  At last report, CDOT hadn't determined what the best course of action is for repairing the bridge — but its experts are working toward that as fast as is safely possible. (Determining what to do requires actual folks to be on and under that bridge, conducting testing.) Hopefully, CDOT will have more answers Tuesday.

We share the worries of everyone affected here. I also must agree, though: It was better to find out this way, than after a bridge failure.

Cinco de Mayo so much fun!

Here's a little bit of brightness from a weekend that was a little dreary, weather-wise. These talented folks are Danza Azteca, and they were among performers at MADA and partners' Cinco de Mayo celebration Sunday.
