Young talent abounds
Image
If you're lucky enough to know a Montrose young person, you probably already know: there is an abundance of musical talent, between school choirs, bands, and the Valley Youth Orchestra, along with that of kids and teens who lend their skills to private stage productions.

Speaking as someone who "played" trumpet for two years in band, without ever knowing how to read music, Katharhynn from the newsroom here is envious of their talent.

Over the weekend, the Valley Youth Orchestra performed Broadway show tunes (and served desserts!) You can find out more about the VYO at ValleyYouthOrchestra.org.

Also, you can check out what the students at local schools are up to with their music here. Staff Writer Rhiannon Bergman interviewed the new choir director and caught up on some recent performances.

What about that junk?

Attention residents: Montrose County is updating its junk ordinance.

There will be a public meeting going over the updates at 6 p.m. March 16, at county public works on LaSalle Road. Of note: the ordinance does not apply to general agricultural, industrial, commercial, or business.
