So many places to eat, not enough time...

It seems like every time I drive down a different part of town that I haven't been to in a while there is a new restaurant, bar, or sweet shop. When I left for Grand Junction almost six years ago I remember saying to my college friends all the time how amazed I was by all the food joints in the college town.

Well, it looks like Montrose is catching up to Grand Junction, and exponentially.

About two weekends ago my sister took me to her new favorite spot, Ay Chabela Snacks located near the Mcdonald's off of Main Street. A fan of spicy and sweet, I tried a Mangonada, a sticky and addictive concoction made from (you guessed it) mango ice cream, chamoy, and tamarind pieces.

If you're like my sister and enjoy the really sweet, their churros or stuffed conchas might satisfy you.

That's only scratching the surface of new sweet spots in town, let alone new bars, restaurants, and fresh juice spots. Alas, I still haven't had Crumbl Cookies...

Hi, I am Rhiannon, one of the staff writers for Montrose Daily Press. I cover the city and school district, and I love getting to cover the arts in town as well.

New spot for beer and dog lovers

Driving around town last weekend I noticed crowd's of people gathered around a new brewery in town. With a patio and twinkling lightbulbs out front, it seems as though Montrose's newest business, Pomona Brewing Company, plopped down from the heavens overnight onto the lot at 830 N. Townsend Ave.

Aside from beer, their menu boasts of chicken sandwiches and Bock Bock Fries (alright my curiosity is piqued).

Their patio allows dogs, for those wondering why the headline, but before bringing your fur-legged friend you should check out the brewery's guidelines.
