Fresh opportunities for new students

I had the pleasure of covering some great educational opportunities for young Montrose students these last two weeks.

First I learned about MHS' expanding Career Pathways program, which will start offering construction courses for ninth to twelfth graders soon. Then this Wednesday Morning I was there for the City and CMU's public announcement that solidified a new partnership between the two entities.

With the possible sale of the Historic City Hall on the horizon, Montrose's CMU campus may start offering hospitality management programs similar to those through Hotel Maverik at the main CMU campus- which is exciting!

I graduated from MHS in 2017 and got my degree from CMU May of 2022, and I can't imagine what these opportunities will give to future students. I feel it's important for secondary and post-secondary institutes to take into account that all students have their own career goals in mind, so shout out to MHS and CMU Montrose Campus for their work!

Reminder: The 2nd Annual Building Futures Construction Trade Fair, an event with the Career Pathways program, is next week!

You can find the Daily Press' article on what's happening with Career Pathways here.

The story on CMU and the City of Montrose's new fund is here.

Hi, I am Rhiannon, one of the new staff writers for Montrose Daily Press. I cover the city and school district, and I love getting to cover the arts in town as well.

A Night of Talent and Fun

The opening night of Magic Circle Players newest play, Lost and Found in IKEA, is next Friday, March 17 at 7:30 pm. Magic Circle Theater is located at 420 S. 12th St. and you can purchase tickets on their website.

A play about an IKEA ghost that helps two strangers fall in love? Sounds like a great way to spend your evening, and I look forward to covering the event.
