Laws encouraging wolf hunts introduced in other states: In Colorado, a ballot measure to reintroduce grey wolves to the Western Slope narrowly passed last November. However, Republican-led legislatures in Montana and Idaho have proposed laws allowing for and in some cases giving bounty-like reimbursements to wolf hunters.

Because the Trump Administration removed wolves from the endangered species list last November, wolves have also been hunted in Wisconsin this winter, which is the only state that mandates a hunting season for any animal that is not classified as endangered. However, the quota was greatly exceeded and approximately 20% of the state's wolf population was killed.

Wyoming announces end to mask mandate and occupancy restrictions: Starting next Tuesday, March 16, Wyoming's state-wide mask mandate will be lifted and bars, restaurants, theaters and gyms will be able to resume with normal operations.

Other states, such as Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas have already moved to lift restrictions and allow businesses to operate at full capacity to the chagrin of President Joe Biden, who called the moves "neanderthal thinking" last week.

Epidemiologists and public health experts say that the lifting of restrictions comes too soon and warned that it would lead to an uptick in infections. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis extended the state's mask mandate for another month on March 5.

New guidelines for vaccinated: The Centers for Disease control released guidelines for the over 30 million Americans who have been fully vaccinated. say that indoor, unmasked gatherings with other people who have received both doses is okay.

Also, indoor gatherings with unvaccinated people is also allowed, as long as they are all from the same household and not at an increased risk of severe infection.
