Hi and hello! Cassie here with your newsletter today. You don't need me to tell you that it's seriously hot outside, but I'll say it anyway. Something I hear without fail almost every summer, whether it's here or in Texas, is that blasting the AC in your car burns more fuel. Is that true? Well, yes and no.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), using your vehicle's AC while driving at highway speeds is actually more efficient than leaving your windows down. But it also depends on the size of your vehicle: smaller frame cars on average use less fuel than larger ones when it comes to using AC. It gets way more complex than this, so go ahead and take a look if you get a few minutes.

Our mistake! In yesterday's newsletter I mentioned that Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is visiting Grand Junction this Friday. I incorrectly called the BLM the "Bureau of Labor Management," but Haaland will actually be stopping in to talk about the Bureau of Land Management.

CASA is making some changes: Katharhynn Heidelberg wrote an impactful piece on how CASA is evolving from COVID. The organization will be transitioning into mental health services for youth, as well as the Clinical Youth Services opening up in Montrose.
