How was your Fourth? Katharhynn from the newsroom here spent hers at a cook-out and beating the heat by sitting neck-deep in the river. Montrose was out and about July 4, celebrating with a parade down Main Street, then last night, with a fabulous fireworks display — all very welcome to a pandemic-weary citizenry. Patriotism was on full display, reminding us of why we celebrate. And this young lady was running her feet off handing out treats! (Joseph Harold Photography)
Fire risk: Unfortunately, a property owner on Marine Road lost a shed to flames on Saturday. The Montrose Fire Protection District put out the blaze, but the structure was a total loss.
