Good evening! It's Josue bringing you today's newsletter. This week was a busy one in Denver, with the city hosting All-Star Week Festivities for the first time since 1998. Though it's been a rough season for Rockies fans, they had reason to celebrate throughout the festivities. Colorado Rockies prospect Michael Toglia hit a home run in the Futures Game on Sunday. The Rockies' Trevor Story reached the semi-finals in the Home Run Derby Monday, and starting pitcher German Marquez pitched a one-to-three inning during the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
"Forgotten community': Staff Writer Cassie Knust visited San Juan Mobile Home Park, and reported on what residents in the area are experiencing. Residents have reported issues, but there have been no solutions — yet. They're hopeful the potential arrival of a developer could help answer some of their questions.
Program trouble?: An analysis from Axios Denver revealed that just a fraction of Colorado's applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund led to federal relief dollars. Four Montrose businesses got funds from the program, but did any local restaurant owners apply and miss out, or have trouble throughout the process? If so, email me at josuep@montrosepress.com.
Montrose trivia: It's T-shirt time. Answer this question right, and you can win a free NABUR T-shirt. If you've already won a shirt, you can still participate! Email answers to josuep@montrosepress.com. What year did the Montrose High School football team last reach the state title game?
Today in history: On July 15, 1988, the Bruce Willis-led "Die Hard" released in theaters, and it's now considered one of the greatest action films of all time.
But one debate still rages on 33 years later: Is "Die Hard" a Christmas movie? I've heard most say it is, but I can't say for certain — I haven't seen it. I'll have to put it on my list.
