Hello, Montrose! It's Anna Lynn here. Tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that had reverberating effects around our country and the rest of the world. I'm too young to remember the day of the attack, but I've grown up in a world undoubtedly altered by the tragedy.

A commemoration ceremony in Montrose is scheduled for tomorrow morning with a procession of first responders starting on South 12th Street at 10:40 a.m. and ending at the courthouse steps.

A solemn program will start at 11 a.m. and run until approximately 12:30 p.m.

Latest redistricting update: Yesterday afternoon, I sat through a nearly-four hour Zoom meeting where dozens of Coloradans gave feedback on the newest edition of the redistricting maps.

These maps matter because they're adjusted once every 10 years and affect how the state is represented in Congress.

One of the biggest themes that came up at the meeting is whether or not the Western Slope should be split into two north/south districts, as the newest edition of the map is drawn. However, some were opposed to the northernmost district including urban portions of Boulder County. To fulfill a constitutional requirement, all districts need to be the same size.

More mental health resources for kids: The state of Colorado has given Center for Mental Health a nearly $90,000 grant to expand services to young children and their families in Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose and Ouray counties, my colleague Cassie Knust reported.

"I'm very excited to be able to continue to offer these services and to be able to outreach our rural communities. Some of our communities only have one or two daycare centers, so helping families and helping both sides be successful is just really amazing work to get to do," Laura Byard, the center's clinical director, said.

Jury acquitted man of murder attempt in 2020 Paonia shooting: Katharhynn Heidelberg has been in and out of the Delta courtroom all week reporting on this trial.

The jury acquitted Henry Russel of attempted murder, but found him guilty of a class-3 misdemeanor of reckless endangerment.
