Good afternoon! Josue here, letting all Denver Broncos fans know that your eyes didn't deceive you on Sunday.

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater won in his Broncos debut, throwing for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-13 win over the New York Giants.

Bridgewater looked pretty sharp, and the defense — which could be one of the best in the NFL this season — did its part. Maybe Denver can compete for a Wild Card spot? Let me know what you think and send me a message at josuep@montrosepress.com.

Locally, Montrose heads to Palisade (2-1) today for some Thursday night football. The Indians, who've started 3-0 for the fourth straight year, will play a Bulldogs squad that hasn't allowed an opponent to score more than 10 points this season.

If you can't make it to Palisade, MHS softball (8-3) plays SWL rival Grand Junction Central (10-3) at the high school at 5 p.m.

Expansion on tap at MTJ: The Montrose County Board of Commissioners approved a $33 million construction agreement with FCI Constructors, Inc. for a terminal expansion.

The expansion is expected to include new parking lots, associated utilities, add two additional gates and nearly double the size of the terminal.

You can read additional details about the planned expansion in staff writer Anna Lynn Winfrey's story.

Mark your calendar: Next Wednesday, local archeologist Matt Landt and local resident experts will share oral histories and historical documentation of the Morada and the role it plays in Montrose's Hispanic community.

I was able to speak with Landt, Chris Trujillo and Fernando Morales last week, and it was great to learn more about the Morada and its history, and its importance to Montrose.

For some that attend the presentation, it's possible they learn more about their family history, Morales said, due to the Morada's extensive history within the area.

Montrose trivia: Let's keep it with sports this week. Send your answers to josuep@montrosepress.com.

Which former MHS graduate is the current kicker for Colorado Mesa University's football team?
