Keep smiling I'm hopeful I can be forgiven for another newsletter talking about cats — this time, a bobcat that paid Chuck Anderson a visit near his Ridgway-area home. If you got a look at the Saturday paper, you probably saw Chuck's contribution to our community photo page: two shots of the same bobcat, doing what looked like amazing yoga poses. I was quite taken with the pictures, which is why I am happy he'd actually sent us four — so I can share the other two here! Chuck writes he was surprised to see the cat sitting on the ledge of his firepit, where it lounged before about a half hour before having a good stretch and going on about its day. Without further ado, here is "Smiling Bob." (Also a Monday smile, from Katharhynn and the newsroom.) Above, Robert or Roberta Cat gives a grin. Below: Quite a yawn. (Photos by Chuck Anderson)
A different kind of cat post This kitty is missing from Story Lane/West Oak Grove/6400 roads, going north. Shadow, a long-haired gray-and-white spayed kitty (with splashes of orange) was last seen March 17 and is desperately missed. Her collar (pink) may have come off. I'm making an appeal because I know what it is like to have a beloved cat disappear. If you can help Shadow's person, please call 970-596-6943.
