CDC releases new tool for vaccine availability: A new website from the Centers for Disease Control maps where vaccines are in stock at facilities all over the country. This initial launch only shows the providers who have received vaccines directly from the federal government. To view the map from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, click here.

Appointments are required for most facilities. You should also pre-register with Montrose County Public Health or your local public health department. Click here for other areas in Colorado.

Not sure if you're eligible for the vaccine yet? Check out Colorado Public Radio's thorough guide to vaccines in the state or this interactive tool from the Colorado Sun.

Public conversations about gray wolves in the works: The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission met yesterday to discuss and plan public listening sessions on the reintroduction of the grey wolf to the state.

Proposition 114 narrowly passed statewide in November, with 50.3% of Coloradans approving. However, approximately three-quarters of voters in Montrose County opposed the measure, and local concerns remain.

Coloradan nominated to USPS governing board: President Joe Biden has nominated Denver elections expert Amber McReynolds, as well as two new members, to USPS's nine-member board. McReynolds has extensive experience with expanding voter access, especially through mail-in ballots.

Current Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has been facing increasing pushback from Democrats for cost-cutting initiatives. His latest proposal would eliminate first-class mail — increasing wait times for non-local mail to 3-5 days — and raise prices.

The president does not have the jurisdiction to oust DeJoy, but the governing board does. Testifying at the House Oversight and Reform Committee yesterday, DeJoy said that he planned on sticking around for "a long time."

Thursday Throwback!

On this day in 2014: Jeff Keehfuss displays a video at his booth at the Montrose Home, Garden and Business Expo, shot with a drone similar to the one on the table, which he used as a marketing tool to sell houses.

COLUMN: People, stones, glass houses and all that jazz
There is a big difference between Bill Gates and me — I mean besides all that money — and that is that I have worked with his product, a lot, and understand it. I have also endured the stress of using his company's bug-ridden software over the decades. He, on the other hand, has perhaps eaten a steak or a burger, but he certainly has never dirtied his hands working with livestock and understanding it. I have.
