I'm so happy

After a dreary week of nasty weather, punctuated by a head injury that prevented me from doing a lot of my favorite things and focusing in general, it's good to be back.

As doctors suggest concussed people do (and mostly because Allegiant Airlines definitely does not rebook tickets) I hit vegas for the weekend.

Since I returned, it's been good news, good vibes and clear skies.

Earlier this week, I chatted with the guys at COPMOBA, which maintains most free mountain bike trail systems nearby, about what's on deck this year. Spoiler alert, it's about 35 miles of new trail between Ridgway's RAT trails and the North Fruita desert.  Up in Mesa County and locally at Buzzard Gulch, the riding conditions are already beautiful.

By May 1, just about every trail will be open, weather dependent. The local Via Ferratas will be ready to go around the same time, and I'm also planning my first peak ascents on the Front Range.

But, it's not time to put away the snowboards just yet! Earlier this week, I was positively delighted to get an email that Powderhorn has pushed their closing date and end-of year festivities back a week to April 14. I've also committed to doing a pond skim, in costume, for the sake of journalism.

So, that's life lately, it's a beautiful time to live here on the Western Slope.

Cheers,

Kylea
