Good evening friends,

Word just came in from CDOT that the U.S. 50 bridge west of Gunnison is closed indefinitely due to cracking.

Image

US 50 bridge crossing the Blue Mesa Reservoir near Dillon Pinnacles that is now closed.

The closure is in place between US 50 Mile Point 131 (intersection with Colorado Highway 92) and MP 138. Local traffic is allowed through the closure point to reach residences. Motorists should use COtrip to plan an alternate route, but so far, CDOT suggests detouring via Interstate 70 to the north or US 160 to the south.

Now onto some local happenings!

Let's talk more on NABUR!

In case you missed it, we have a new category on NABUR: World affairs.

By adding this new option, we hope to facilitate conversation on national and global issues. Feel free to post what's on your mind, but remember, we want to maintain civil discussion!

As a news organization, it's our duty to inform. That said, news is made richer by the communities it represents.

With that in mind, I encourage you to hop on over to NABUR and share what's on your mind: What is important to you? What isn't important to you? What are you excited for/hesitant about? Let us know!

As always, for any questions, concerns or tips, email us at editor@montrosepress.com or me directly at cassiek@montrosepress.com
