It's time to hit the trails If you've been keeping up with our outdoor sections, you know there's plenty of new mountain bike singletrack coming to the Western Slope this year- and plenty of awesome trails that are ready to ride now. Last weekend, I dusted off the bike, made sure nothing sounded too squeaky and finally put in some miles at Buzzard Gulch and the Kokopelli trails. As COPMOBA members promised, the conditions were beautiful, and up in the Grand Valley I was wearing shorts and sweating through my long sleeve t-shirt; not bad for April! But if the downhill and enduro-style trails we have here aren't you're thing, stay tuned for Saturday's paper. In it, we chat with the guys behind Gravel Adventure Trail Guides, a series of books made specifically to cater to the gravel grinding niche. Next week, they'll release their book on Montrose, Ridgway and the West End, complete with a launch event comprised of a handful of community rides all over the region. And, if you need some inspiration to get your stoke level up, check out our 5 Point Adventure Film Festival on the Road Event tomorrow night. We'll be showing around 90 minutes of awesome, inspiring outdoor films at The Temple, with drinks for sale and free light snacks.
