RESTAURANTS REMAIN APPREHENSIVE: The Colorado Restaurant Association has been compiling information based on monthly surveys sent out to restaurant owners. Even with outdoor seating and takeout/delivery during the pandemic, and now with dine-in returning, over half of Colorado restaurants that took the survey said they will permanently close within three months.

IT'S ELM BUG SEASON: Are small beetles appearing in and around your house? They're most likely elm seed bugs, emerging this season to feed on Siberian elms. If you squash them, they will let off a strange odor people have described as similar to "bitter almonds." They won't hurt you or your plants, but can be a household nuisance.

7TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT DRUG TASK FORCE UPDATE: Since January, there have been arrests of 15 suspects and the seizure of three pounds of illegal narcotics. Methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and black market marijuana were part of the haul during the first half of the year.
