The public has multiple events to look forward to in the near future, including the opening of Mingle Sports Bar and Event Center, a proposed special recreation permit from the Cimarron Mountain Club and an alternate version of Deltarado Days.

A WALL OF GRATITUDE: A wall of cards from local school children greets officers at the Montrose Police Department, thanking them for their service to the public.

COVID-19 VARIANCE: Montrose County is angling to have more capacity at events and businesses, as well as an adjustment to when its variance to state COVID-19 restrictions would be subject to being rescinded.
Commissioners were on Wednesday considering applying for an additional variance, but had not taken formal action.

READY TO SWIM?: The Montrose Recreation District will reopen the Community Recreation Center aquatics on Monday, June 8, but use will be limited as the staff abide by state and local coronavirus guidelines.
The aquatics amenities will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m.

PUBLIC INPUT NEEDED: The BLM Uncompahgre Field Office is seeking public input on the proposed special recreation permit from the Cimarron Mountain Club. The permit would allow for commercially guided hikes, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, and avalanche mitigation on Montrose County public lands managed by the BLM.
